It's not like I have a super-high-end system with wires strung through the walls that would require very high-end cable so this was perfect for me. I'm not an expert or anything but this was very easy to work with and got the job done. I purchased a Pioneer 1019AH-K and Klipsch Quintet SLs and needed some speaker wire. If you aren't sure, go ahead and get it, though, because it seems to run out of stock quickly. Highly recommended. My room is white and this cable matched reasonably well. The sound quality is good, the price is good, and the style is good.
If you aren't concerned with the jacket color, then any other OFC wire will work equally well. So if you are looking for OFC speaker wire with an off-white jacket this is good. If you are looking for flat speaker wire, this is not for you (though it is relatively low profile). The wire is fine for what it is. Unfortunately when you search for "flat speaker wire" this comes up in the search and you can't tell from the stock photo that this is NOT flat speaker wire.
I ordered this roll 'by mistake', not knowing that my Onkyo 7.1 speakers set actually came with its own color-coded wires and I was about to return it. the Acoustic Research, thick, near-pure copper.
The sound coming out when using the AR's AP-16100W was clearly crisper, fuller and I did not go back to the color-coded Onkyo-supplied alternative.Here's what you get:- 100 ft. Needless to say, and I would not call call myself an audiophile, I immediately knew that this wire was a keeper.
What you get is a 100 ft. The color-coded, thin, aluminum-like wimpy wires that Onkyo was providing 'for free' vs.
long, 16 Gauge- Superior quality copper- Off-white thick wire- The '+' wire is clearly but discretely marked- Limited lifetime warranty (I don't really know what that means)- Made in China (why AR, oh why).I recommend this good quality, high performance speaker wire without hesitation. roll of high quality, honest to goodness true shiny-red copper, 16 Gauge thick wire and I just can't see why anyone would settle for anything less.
I then decided to actually do a comparison test.
I would buy it again. As you would expect, nothing to be concerned about. I wanted white to hide it easier along my white walls, this worked.
But overall good wire for the price. The wire was flexible so easy to work with. I am not sure what advantage oxygen free gives you.
